It's Official: Netflix Is Losing Some of One Piece's Best Movies

Amidst the increasing popularity of One Piece globally, following the acclaimed live action on Netflix, which already revealed its release window, fans of Eiichiro Oda’s story have received bad news about the series' availability on the streaming service. Netflix has published the list of films that are set to leave the platform in the upcoming months, confirming the exit of some of the best films in One Piece’s franchise.

Netflix is the largest streaming platform in the world and, as such, has an immense catalog, including the majority of One Piece movies, despite not having available the complete season 1 of the anime. But although some of the productions do have a permanent place on Netflix, this isn't the case with every film in Toei Animation's franchise.

Two One Piece Films are Leaving Netflix Soon

Fans of One Piece need to make sure they check out the recap films One Piece: Episode of Arabasta and One Piece: Episode of Chopper: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Sakura before they leave Netflix on February 15, 2025. One Piece has translated some of the best arcs well into recap films, with enhanced animation and improved character design becoming a fan-favorite revisit for many fans of the franchise. Among them, Episode of Chopper is the most endearing recap film, adapting the Drum Island Arc and the tragic past of the most adorable member of Luffy’s crew.

What’s Leaving Netflix on February 15th

Brotherly Love (2015)

Deuces (2016)

Handsome Siblings (2020)

Last Breath (2019)

One Piece: Episode of Arabasta (2007)

One Piece: Episode of Chopper: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Sakura (2008)

The Catcher Was a Spy (2018)

The Trap (2017)

White Boy (2017)

Likewise, One Piece's eighth film, One Piece: Episode of Arabasta, condenses the most important events of the Arabasta Arc in just an hour and a half, which makes it a perfect film for those who want to know the story but don't have enough time to watch all the anime episodes. Moreover, certain events and characters were rewritten by Oda for the film. An example is that Ace doesn't appear in the film, as his intervention during the arc was filler created for One Piece's anime adaptation.

Both Films Cover Part of the Arabasta Saga in One Piece

The Films Are Removed From Netflix Ahead of the Release of One Piece Season 2 Live-Action

Given the fact that One Piece's live-action season 2 is set to cover the Arabasta Saga, which includes both the Drum Island and Arabasta arcs, it's sad that fans who would want to rewatch them before its release and recall the highest points of the arcs or those who would want to check its animated film adaptation won't have the opportunity to do it on Netflix.

Nevertheless, the Arabasta Saga, which covers episodes #61 to #130 of One Piece's anime, is still available to watch on Netflix for those who want to catch up before its upcoming live-action adaptation. Additionally, one of the best and highest-grossing films of the franchise, One PieceFilm: Red, is also available to stream on Netflix, like some of the other films, so the audience will find plenty to watch from the beloved anime.
