It's True: My Hero Academia Just Found a Way to Immortalize Bakugo's Saddest Moment

There is plenty of My Hero Academiamerchandise out there, but the most heartbreaking piece yet has just been announced. A new Maximatic anime figure will be available in July 2025, and it features Bakugo's most distressing scene in the My Hero Academia series.

During one of the last battles with All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, Bakugo almost lost his life, risking everything to protect his classmate he previously swore was his enemy, Izuku Midoriya. Better than any other scene, this one reveals just how much the relationship between Bakugo and Deku has grown and changed, making this anime figure truly meaningful.

New Bakugo Figure Reveals the Hero’s Most Devastating Scene Ever

Bakugo Nearly Lost His Life to Save Deku, Exhibiting Growth and Maturity

In manga chapter 362 and anime episode 149, "Light Fades to Rain," which was set during the Final War arc of My Hero Academia, Bakugo experienced an extremely close brush with death that he almost did not survive. Tomura Shigaraki, the intimidating villain, stopped Bakugo's heart temporarily with a punch to the chest, knocking the U.A. hero unconscious. Shortly before Bakugo's "death," he began experiencing vivid flashbacks of his life up to that point, specifically, his interactions with his classmate, Izuku Midoriya, or Deku. For most of his life,Bakugo bullied Deku out of insecurity, but in this moment, that changed.

Bakugo finally admitted that he was only mistreating Deku due to his own lack of confidence and expressed his admiration for the hero, turning over a new leaf. Although he never fully lost his fiery temper, he did learn to channel his rage towards those who truly do deserve it, like villains. As he was slowly dying during this battle, his final thoughts were about the two most influential people in his life: Deku and his hero, All Might. The anime figure captures the moment of Bakugo reflecting on his immense respect for Deku, despite the animosity between them in the past.

Bakugo Shows Selflessness and Courage Even in His Darkest Moment

This Figure Represents Bakugo’s Most Saddening Sacrifice, When He Almost Lost His Life for Deku’s Sake

One of Bakugo's most iconic and deep quotes, "Izuku... Can I still catch up to you?" is represented through this anime figure, because the piece of merchandise perfectly reveals Bakugo's pose and solemn facial expression during this pivotal My Hero Academia scene. On the brink of death, Bakugo wondered to himself if he could ever hope to reach Deku's level of courage. In one of the boldest sacrifices in the series, Bakugo allowed Shigaraki to nearly kill him so Deku would not be harmed, almost giving up his life for someone that he used to hate with all his heart.

Gone are the days of him acting selfish and callous towards others, because in this scene, he had no qualms about dying to save another. Any My Hero Academiafan would be delighted to own this incredible anime figure, but this piece of merchandise will be particularly cherished by Bakugo fans, who are undoubtedly proud of his character growth, even in his darkest moment.
