Effective January 1, 2018, the local nonprofit Conserve Lake County will merge with the regional, Chicago-based nonprofit Openlands. Organization leaders say the move will strengthen Conserve Lake County’s leverage and maximize resources for protecting natural landscapes in Chicagoland.
