Liam Neeson Thriller With 83% RT Score Finds Success On New Streaming Service 1 Year Later

Liam Neeson has had quite an interesting career over the last few decades. Early in his career, he became an Oscar-nominated actor, recognized for his work in the leading role in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List. He has also received Golden Globe nominations for Michael Collins and Kinsey. As such, many of his works have been critically acclaimed, including Everest, Widows, Husbands and Wives, Ponyo, and Batman Begins. Thus, Neeson is a well-respected and acclaimed actor of his generation.

However, Neeson's career has also been saturated with action movies that are poorly reviewed, including Blacklight, Taken 3, and Men in Black: International. In addition, many of his films have disappointed at the box office. Despite receiving positive reviews, the pre-COVID Ordinary Love made less than $1 million at the worldwide box office. His recent 2024 film Absolution also struggled at the box office, getting just $3.4 million. However, another 2024 movie starring Neeson is now finding a second life on streaming.

The movie was eclipsed only by the Ryan Gosling-led The Fall Guy and beat out the films The Creator, Red One, The Equalizer, The Equalizer 2, Culpa Tuya, A Quiet Place: Day One, Tag, and The Beekeeper.

Our Take On This Movie's Streaming Chart Success

Other Liam Neeson Films Are Doing Well

The success of In the Land of Saints and Sinners on streaming follows a recent trend in the past few weeks. Neeson's films have been entering and exiting streaming platforms en masse, likely increasing awareness of the actor. As such, other Neeson-led movies have succeeded, including Non-Stop and Blacklight. Even if some are trending on different platforms, this trend shows that Neeson is an actor to watch out for right now, and will probably keep charting with other films.
