A Special Series That Could’ve Gone Even Further

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 5 sped quickly through major events in Midge's life, from her debut on The Gordon Ford Show to a time-jumping finale that revealed her decades-long success. While those moments were impactful, they also hinted that the writers had originally planned a slower, more detailed rollout of Midge's evolution. Most character arcs, especially Midge's, were given a meaningful closure in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale, with the final moments between Midge and Susie being a heartfelt love letter to their friendship. Still, for a creator known for immersive worlds and long-term character investment like Gilmore Girls, Sherman-Palladino's need to express more in the series is understandable.
