Search & Rescue teams at Yosemite National Park reported a happy ending for a hiker lost for six days near Hetch Hetchy: Alan Chow, 36, of Oakland, was successfully rescued by helicopter in February. After getting lost in the snow during what was supposed to be a weekend backpacking trip, Chow hunkered down in his tent and melted snow for water; he had packed enough extra food to last through his ordeal. Rescuers eventually spotted his tent above Wapama Fall.
