Love Is Blind Season 8 Timeline Explained (When Did Filming Take Place & When Did The Reunion Happen?)

Love is Blind kicked off season 8 this past Valentine's Day, and details of the series' filming timeline are quite surprising, given its premiere date. Marking its 5-year anniversary on Netflix, the show has garnered a large fan base for its unique concept, dramatic twist, and deep connections. Like many reality shows, it was likely filmed months in advance of its release due to casting, filming locations, and post-production editing. For instance, as stated by Cosmopolitan, The Bachelorette's season 21 began filming in March 2024 and wrapped up in May 2024, but didn't premiere until July 8, 2024.

That being said, although Netflix didn't officially disclose Love is Blind's filming dates, there were rumors about the show's production taking place in the fall of 2024. However, the former singles have unintentionally revealed clues to audiencesabout the filming timeline that suggest otherwise. Fans have also speculated about the show's timeline based on the creator's interview about the singles' time in the pods and the couples' romantic getaways. Here's a quick breakdown ofLove Is Blind season 8's production dates, the Love is Blind: The Reunion, and more.

When Did Love Is Blind Season 8 Film?

Filming Took Place In Early 2024

Based on a few things the singles have said, it is clear that season 8 was filmed in early 2024, making the premiere nearly a year after production began. The one-year gap between production and the premiere is uncommon for most reality TV dating shows, but for LIB it provides a more authentic experience when the couples reunite after a year at the Reunion. In episode 5, during one of their pod dates, Lauren O'Brien and Dave Bettenburg greet each other by saying "Happy Valentine's Day," and since the series is not live, it could only have been 2024.

In a recent interview on Netflix's Tudum, Love is Blind creator Chris Coelen explained that the singles only have 10 days to go on their pod dates and find their partners—or, what he describes as "10 days of 24/7 therapy." After those 10 days, an additional 28 days are spent filming the couples after they've left the pods.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that the series production began in mid-February and ended in late March 2024.

Will There Be Any Love Is Blind Season 8 After The Altar Follow-Up?

It's Not Likely

During a recent Q&A, Love Is Blind series creator revealed he had no interest in bringing back the three-part specialLove is Blind: After The Altar. After season 5's reunion, audiences noticed that the special was no longer released following season 4. Instead, the show only aired the reunion, leaving fans to learn about the former couples' lives through social media or headlines. Coelen told The Hollywood Reporter, "It doesn’t feel real; it feels like at that point you’re just making something that’s kind of for the sake of making it," effectively closing the door on any future plans.
