Love STALKER? You Won't Want To Miss This Post-Apocalyptic Survival RPG, Now In Early Access

Exploring a contained, apocalyptic area with only scavenged weapons and a set of skills to survive with is a hot type of game right now, and Chernobylite 2is the next game for fans of this setting. Hot on the heels of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl comes Chernobylite 2, a sequel by indie studio The Farm 51 that just hit early access on Steam. The first Chernobylite was well-received when it came out in 2021, and the sequel aims to expand on the survival aspects of the game with a more sci-fi-inspired twist.

Chernobylite 2 will let players explore the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone further with a character who can access parallel dimensions. Chernobylite 2 features far more RPG aspects than S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, like building bases and creating alliances with different factions. For any players who want to spend even more time exploring the Zone, this unique version created by an indie studio is worth checking out.

What Is Chernobylite 2?

The Newest Game By The Farm 51

Four years after The Farm 51 released Chernobylite in 2021, Chernobylite 2 brings players back to the Zone for a co-op RPG experience. Set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, Chernobylite brings a sci-fi twist to the real-life location. Players take on the role of a Planewalker, a person who can travel through parallel worlds, searching for a rare material called Chernobylite. Stuck in the Zone, players will have to explore the open-world map while fortifying a base, building relationships with different Zone factions, and fighting mutated monsters.

A Similar Atmosphere With Sci-Fi Elements

On a basic level, Chernobylite 2 is very similar to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, as both take place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, have a gritty post-apocalyptic atmosphere, and feature mutated monsters and people. Fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. should still enjoy Chernobylite 2 despite the surface-level similarities since it brings a very fun new element to the Zone.

Switching character builds at will is a unique feature, and among the mutated monsters of Chernobyl, it should make for an entertaining experience. On top of the unique premise, other RPG elements, like building a custom base and forming alliances, provide a different experience for players who have already spent plenty of time in the Zone.

Currently, Chernobylite 2 is in early access on Steam, which means some of the promised aspects of the game, like co-op and third-person, aren’t fully smoothed out. However, based on the last game's performance and the supportive community that helped kickstart the game, it seems likely that Chernobylite 2will iron out issues for a solid final product.
