Marvel Rivals: How To Earn The Free Carved Traveler Groot Skin
Groot has a new event skin in Marvel Rivals. This is connected with the second part of the Midnight Features tasks released for Season 1.5. The individual missions will be slowly revealed between February 21-28, 2025, and they can be completed by March 20. These require playing as specific characters, including new additions The Thing and Human Torch. Luckily, you are given the option of doing one of two tasks, depending on what seems easier.
Just like the first part of Midnight Features, the second half will tease other characters besides Groot in Marvel Rivals. In most cases, early teases have been premium or battlepass-related skins, like Blood Kariudo Psylocke appearing in art a few weeks before it went on sale. Even in the first portion, however, there has already been an appearance of Blade, a potential new hero for the next season. It's likely that more info will be available in the daily tasks and rewarded comic pages.
Midnight Features Missions & Rewards
Carved Traveler Is Not The Only Goal
Midnight Features Part 2 contains several missions and chapters in Marvel Rivals. Once open to the public, they can be completed in any order. Personally, I leisurely finish missions as I play my favorite characters instead of focusing on them right away. Gaining all main gallery card rewards will then grant access to the ultimate reward, the Carved Traveler skin. Note that NetNease is still keeping Chapter 5 under wraps for the first week of release.

These quests can all be seen in the Event section, where a newspaper lays out the chapters in a stylized format. It's worth getting an overview of everything at hand before starting on any of the challenges, as it's easier to space some out to avoid any ruts of grinding one character. Some of the challenges along the way to earning the Groot Carved Traveler skin should be trivial to complete, like the first obstacle of reading a lore page. Others could take a good bit more time, but most that require specific character abilities allow several characters as options.

Marvel Rivals Continues To Prove Its Listening To Players With Battle Pass Change
Marvel Rivals continues to show the benefits of listening to its community with a battle pass change, which may be the key to its long-term success.
Whether getting Carved Traveler is worthwhile or not could depend on how often you play Groot, as it's not as major of a design overhaul as some of the game's most interesting skins. Even if it's not especially appealing, however, there are plenty of more minor rewards to earn on the path to the ultimate goal. After completing all four chapters in Midnight Features Part 2, the skin can be claimed from the Mail section on the top right of the screen in Marvel Rivals.
