Marvel Rivals' Latest Luna Snow Skin Changes Everything You Know About Her

Luna Snow just got a new skin in Marvel Rivals that surprised players when it dropped. There were a few changes that were unexpected, and it seems to be part of an effort to commemorate the character’s creation, which would have been on January 12. Players who want this skin will have to buy it directly from the in-game store, but it comes with more than the typical purchase does.

There are a lot of skins in Marvel Rivals now, with each character having at least one variant if not many more. Some of these are earned through free rewards, while others must be acquired by purchasing the Battle Pass or by spending real money. Most of them do very little other than change the character’s appearance, but Luna Snow has changed that for the first time.

Luna Snow's New Skin In Marvel Rivals Changes More Than Expected

A New Look With An Added Bonus

Luna Snow got a 2099 variant that embraces the high-tech cityscape from that time period in the comics along with Luna’s K-Pop potential. The outfit is very much inspired by K-Pop, with her hair in anime-like multicolored pigtails. The character has a strong pink and purple theme in this skin, but the surprising part comes when players start to use her in battle.

While her actual abilities do not seem to have changed, the sound of them has. She now has new sounds when she’s performing each of her abilities, with an entirely new song when she is using her Ultimate. It’s a big change that would require a fair amount of work, and you cannot get those sounds if you are using her in any other skin. YouTuber Gregieksy's video has a great preview of the new sounds.

Why This Change Was Made Now & Not Sooner

While it may not seem like a big deal, changing her music is quite surprising. It hasn’t been done before for a new costume in Marvel Rivals, and it would require a lot more internal changes on the developer’s part than just changing the colors or artwork. It’s an interesting detail and one that likely points to the developer’s desire to commemorate her character’s 7th anniversary, as stated in the Marvel Rivals’ X account.

Since Luna is herself a K-Pop star, music is an important part of the character. It is not just an anniversary, but the impact Luna has had as both a hero and a music star. With any luck, Gwen Stacy will hopefully have a similar move and addition to her various costumes, assuming she comes to Marvel Rivals as well.
