Max's New 2025 Medical Series Is So Accurate That A Real-Life Doctor Says It's "Too Real"
Medical series have been among the most popular types of shows on television for decades now. Part of this success can be credited to ER, a series that chronicled the stories of doctors working at the County General Hospital in Chicago. The show featured a talented leading cast, including Anthony Edwards, George Clooney, Eriq La Salle, Julianna Margulies, and Noah Wyle. ER was an extremely well-regarded show, winning 23 Emmys throughout its 15 seasons. Over the years, a revival of ERhas been floated, but it has never gotten off the ground.
Grey's Anatomy has since taken the place of ERin the land of top-tier medical series. The series had some overlap, as itbegan in 2005, three years before ER ended in 2008. The ABC seriesis still running today and has led to spinoffs as well as a rise in medical TV shows. Two such series came late last year, including the Ryan Murphy showDoctor Odyssey and the NBC comedy St. Denis Medical. Now, another new medical series that features an ER actor gets reviewed by an actual doctor.

The series' setting is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, chronicling Dr. Michael Robinavitch and his co-workers as they attempt to treat critically ill patients. The Pitt aired its first two episodes early this year and will continue episodes weekly on Thursdays through April 10.
Now, Doctor Mike reviews the accuracy of The Pitt, evaluating the claim that it is the "most accurate medical series of all time." The doctor complimented everything from the introduction of the residents and interns to the level at which the ERs were overwhelmed. The actual medical issues in The Pitt were also deemed accurate, including the portrayal of burns and the treatment of ailments. Doctor Mike also appreciated how the series shows statistics related to a hospital's performance. The show was so accurate at points that the doctor even felt it to be "too real."
