Mayor Of Kingstown Season 4 Casts First New Character With Ties To The Prison
Mayor of Kingstown season 4 has cast its first new character in a Mayans M.C. star, whose character has ties to the prison in the Michigan town. Mayor of Kingstown season 3 ended with some major character deaths, the biggest being Russian mobster Milo Sunter (Aiden Gillen), Kingstown Prison's interim warden Captain Kareem Moore (Michael Beach), and former escort Iris (Emma Laird). These deaths ended a multitude of storylines while leaving the door open for new stories ahead, including some holes that need to be filled by new faces.
Now, Deadlinehas confirmed Clayton Cardenas will be joining Mayor of Kingstown season 4 in a recurring role. The actor will play Deputy Warden Torres, the secondary to the new Warden at Anchor Bay Prison in the show. Not much is known about how he will interact with Mike (Jeremy Renner), but it seems he'll have a decent level of importance in the series. Cardenas is best known for his role as Angel Reyes in Mayans M.C., and also had a recurring role as Dante in The Cleaning Lady season 3.

The Prison Will Be Important To Season 3's Aftermath
Given how thinned out the cast of Mayor of Kingstownbecame by the end of season 3, it makes sense season 4 will be introducing new characters. Since Cardenas' Torres is going to have ties to Anchor Bay, it's possible his appearance will be a result of Kareem's death. It's unclear how his appearance will impact the prison as a whole, though, especially since tensions are bound to be high with a new face in a position of power. For now, all that's clear is he'll have a role to play, a new face for Mike to associate with.
Mayor of Kingstown season 4 is currently filming, with production expected to last until late May 2025. Although it's unknown how many episodes Cardenas will show up in, his recurring status means he'll probably be in more than half the episodes, indicating a fairly important role in the episodes. Since it's unclear who the new warden is going to be, the transition could cause tension that Torres ends up in the middle of. How well he gets along other law enforcement figures, like Ian (Hugh Dillon), also remains to be seen.

Cardenas' importance to Mayor of Kingstown's prison story seems inevitable, especially now that there's a hole where Kareem once was. His appearance may mark a transitional period for Anchor Bay, possibly involving a heightened law enforcement presence following the Captain's death. With the Mayans M.C. star coming on as the first new cast member, there are likely going to be more following suit as filming for the Paramount+ original continues.
