Monster Hunter Fans, Capcom Needs Your Help In Reimagining the Hit Franchise
Digital comic platform WEBTOON has announced a new contest for fans who want to leave their mark on the popular video game franchise, Monster Hunter. WEBTOON and Capcom are launching the Monster Hunter: Wilds contest, where creators are asked to submit their own original webcomic based on the world of Monster Hunter.
As announced by WEBTOON, creators can participate in the highly anticipated new game in the series, Monster Hunter: Wilds, which is set to launch on February 28. Monster Hunter: Wilds is nominated for "Most Anticipated Game" at this year's Game Awards; the Monster Hunter: Wilds contest began on January 17, and is currently open to submissions for the next month.
The Monster Hunter video game franchise launched in 2004, becoming an instant global phenomenon. Besides a series of games, the franchise also includes a Netflix movie starring Dante Basco, Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild.
WEBTOON & Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Contest Details, Explained – How YOU Can Be Part Of It
The Contest Is Open NOW
TheMonster Hunter: Wilds contest is open to all U.S. based applicants, asking them to create their own original webcomic in response to one of three prompts. Prompt 1, "Hunters First Hunt," asks creators to make a webcomic that captures an adventure in the world of Monster Hunter. Prompt 2, "Day in the Life of a Monster," approaches a story from a monster's point-of-view, looking for webcomics that captures the inner thoughts, backstory, and adventures of a monster. Prompt 3, "Your Team: Palico, Gemma, and Alma," gives creators three new characters on which to base their original submission.
The submission requirements are as follows:
- Entries must in be English
- Entries must be a minimum of 4 panels and up to 5 episodes in length
- Entries must be original and fit for all ages. AI work is NOT accepted
Contestants have a chance to win one of twelve prizes. There are three grand prizes and nine for runners-ups. The grand prize winners will receive a Monster Hunter: Wilds merchandise kit and a digital code for Monster Hunter: Wilds at launch. The runners-ups will receive a Yian Kut Ku Plush and a digital code for Monster Hunter: Wilds at launch.
