Accessing parts of Olympic National Park–by car, anyway–is no easy feat these days. Flooding on the Elwha River has restricted access to riverside trails, Olympic Hot Springs, and Whiskey Bend, two campgrounds have been closed for good, and rockfall has shuttered Staircase Road. This columnist for the Kitsap Sun wonders how much the recent removal of several dams has to do with it.
