National Park Service Slashing Free Days Next Year

This year, the NPS waived entry fees 10 times. Next year they'll do it just 4.

In years past, the National Park Service has held a number of fee-free days to mark holidays such as Veterans’ Day, National Park Week, and National Public Lands Day–a total of 16 free days in 2016 and 10 days in 2017. But next year, fee-free days have been slashed to just four. This news comes on the heels of a proposal to hike entry fees at major national parks in 2018, prompting criticism.
