Netflix’s Adolescence Creators Will Remake One Of The Most Horrifying Nuclear Apocalypse Movies Of All Time

The studio behind Netflix's Adolescence will remake one of the most horrifying nuclear apocalypse movies of all time. Co-created by Jack Thorne and directed by Boiling Point's Philip Barantini, Netflix's hit miniseries follows a 13-year-old boy who is arrested for the murder of a classmate, with each episode shot in one continuous take and Adolescence's cast including Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Faye Marsay, and Owen Cooper. The series has been a massive critical and commercial success, holding a 99% Rotten Tomatoes score and smashing multiple viewing records for Netflix.

Now, the studio behind Netflix's hit series has found its next project, per the BBC. Warp Films, one of the production companies behind Adolescence, will develop the 1984 film Threads into a TV series. A spokesperson for Warp described the original movie as "groundbreaking" and said, "This adaptation will explore prescient issues through rich, character-driven storytelling." Warp founder and chief executive Mark Herbert told Radio Times:
