The public can finally access 6,142 new acres of public land at La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve on Friday, December 1. The San Mateo County property encompasses grasslands, redwoods, and Pacific Ocean views, plus 6 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails and habitat for bobcat and deer. Officials plan to build up to 30 more miles of trail over the next 20 years.
