Of Course, One of Marvel's Best X-Men Villains Is In Love With Xenomorphs

This post contains a preview for Marvel's Aliens vs Avengers #3

The world has been overrun in Marvel's ongoing Aliens vs Avengers crossover, but one X-Men villain is still a big fan of xenomorphs. One of the most lethal creatures in science fiction, xenomorphs have long been seen as the apex predator's apex predator, consuming all in their wake like an unstoppable plague. Naturally, there really is only one Marvel villain who'd look at a xenomorph and their brutal evolutionary cycle as something to be admired.

In Marvel's Aliens vs Avengers by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić, pods of deadly xenomorphs were dropped onto the Marvel Universe thanks to the rogue synthetic David who seeks to extinguish all life across the multiverse. As such, Earth and its Avengers eventually had no choice but to evacuate the planet with as much of humanity as they could manage. Now, the new preview for Aliens vs Avengers #3 reveals the ongoing work of Mister Sinister, who naturally wants to embrace and study the xenomorphs even further:

Known for his own brutal experiments with mutation and his ongoing desire to accelerate the evolutionary process to its peak, it's not all that surprising that Mister Sinister would find xenomorphs so fascinating in this new Marvel series.

And No One Should Be Surprised

Initially rendered nearly speechless in the face of the xenomorphs' "perfection", Mister Sinister confers with his fellow Sinister clones that the aliens truly are the embodiment of evolutionary perfection incarnate. According to Sinister, the true beauty of the xenomorph species is not that they're simply the perfect universal extinction machine, but that they're also a perfect container for their host's genetic history. They both represent an inevitable future where nothing remains but xenomorphs, while also forever preserving the past they've consumed.

This new preview also carries the dark implication that Sinister's study of the xenomorphs has come at the cost of the rest of mutantkind living on Mars. Case in point, several mutants are shown hanging nearby with xenomorph facehuggers attached, including Colossus. Rather than fearing the xenomorphs, Sinister's wish to further embrace and "revel" in their perfection suggests that he and his clones may willingly become hosts when the full issue releases from Marvel Comics.

Ultimately, this new preview suggests Sinister will disturbingly be on the side of the xenomorphs going forward. As such, no one should expect him to help the last of humanity that's come to Mars (at least not willingly). Instead, perhaps Sinister's study of the alien creatures could help the few remaining Avengers find a better means of fighting and ending the creatures for good, when and if the heroes manage to defeat Mister Sinister himself. Either way, it's going to be fascinating to see how humanity survives in the face of such a deadly alien threat that's come to the Marvel Universe.

Aliens vs Avengers #3 releases February 19th from Marvel Comics.
