One Of A24’s Best-Rated Films Of 2024 To Make Movie History In A Meaningful Way
A24 had a good year in 2024. Three of the studio's releases made their way into the studio's top 15 releases of all time, including Civil War, Heretic, and We Live in Time. Civil War is now the studio's second-highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office, making an impressive $106 million and falling behind only the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once. Heretic brought in $43.8 million and also garnered praise for lead Hugh Grant, who got nominated for both a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his work.
In addition to their box office successes, 2024 has also been a year of critical acclaim for the studio. Most of its releases were Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with some astoundingly high scores, such as Love Lies Bleeding's 94% Tomatometer. I Saw the TV Glow also received great reviews, getting an 84% score. The studio also released a film that is in the conversation for Best Actor and Best Picture, among other potential Oscar nominations, and is now getting a unique release.

Our Take On Sing Sing's Release Strategy
Sing Sing Is Honoring Its Subject Matter
Given the content of Sing Sing, this particular record is incredibly meaningful to the film. Through the course of its production, the film maintained its value of amplifying the voices of those incarcerated. The cast is primarily composed of real-life formerly incarcerated men, several of whom are also credited writers on the project. As Sing Sing releases both in theaters and correctional facilities, it is great to see that A24 will continue to honor the lives of people like the story's characters in the movie's distribution phase.
