One Piece Creator Brings Elbaph to Life at Last in Epic (and Unexpected) Promo

As of the past few months, One Piecehas finally entered the long-awaited Elbaph arc. Fans have been waiting for the series to deliver on that arc for over 20 years now, and with every new twist and turn presented in each chapter, it’s been more than living up to the hype.

The Elbaph arc is set to be One Piece’s biggest arc to date, and the official One Piece staff is already leaning into it. While the Elbaph arc has only just started, there’s still enough content for at least one new volume to come out, and sure enough, One Piece has released an official first look at volume #111, the first volume for the Elbaph arc. Volume #111 officially releases in Japan on March 4, but even so, plenty can be gathered from what little has been revealed.

One Piece’s New Volume Cover Shows Off How Gorgeous The Elbaph Arc Is

What Makes One Piece Volume 111's Cover Look So Good

The first thing to stand out about One Piece volume #111 is, of course, the color palette. Volume #111 features Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper in their Elbaph costumes with Loki in the background, and sure enough, every character featured on the cover of One Piece volume #111 is given an incredibly vibrant color palette, with Loki surprisingly being given pinkish hair, as well. Even Luffy’s axe is depicted with dark orange colors, and overall, it makes for very fun imagery.

Starting from the Wano arc, One Piece started giving its characters and settings as much color as possible, even if the choices would be far removed from what most people would expect, so the color palette used for One Piece volume #111 works as well as it does for continuing One Piece’s tendency to make everything as colorful as possible, especially with how Viking culture isn’t usually associated with colors like these. It’s another volume cover that fully understands what makes One Piece so great, and the ones to follow it are bound to be even greater.

How Much Of The Elbaph Arc Will One Piece Volume 111 Cover?

What To Expect From One Piece Volume 111

One Piece volume #111’s imminent release also begs the question of how much content it will cover. According to the official One Piece X account, volume #111 will go from chapter #1122 to chapter #1133, meaning that One Piece volume #111 will begin with the end of the Egghead arc and end with Robin and Saul’s reunion at the beginning of the Elbaph arc. That means the collected volumes will only be eight chapters behind the series, so it makes sense to stop things there.

The specific chapter volume #111 stops at also makes sense. The emotional moment of Robin and Saul’s reunion makes for a suitable act break thanks to the emotional catharsis of it all, with the manga even originally taking a break when chapter #1133 was first released, so One Piece chapter #1133 is the perfect ending for volume #111 thanks to how high a note it allows the cover to end on. Overall, there’s plenty to be excited about with One Piece volume #111, and it’s sure to be the perfect volume to kick off the manga’s biggest arc to date.
