Palisade Pushes for New Mountain Bike Trail Despite Lack of Funds

Planners want to start building the Palisade Plunge Trail a little at a time instead of waiting for a major cash grant.

The proposed Palisade Plunge mountain bike trail, a 30-mile, downhill singletrack path from the Grand Mesa’s top to the valley below, shouldn’t wait for a major grant to start, city officials said this week. The project did not receive money from either the Great Outdoors Colorado or Colorado Department of Local Affairs Grants this year, but planners now want to apply for smaller grants to get started on a short trail portion.
