Pokémon GO

With the anniversary of Pokémon Horizons' initial premiere occurring this month, Pokémon GO will be celebrating, once again, with the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event. The event will feature various characters from the anime itself, including a special Pikachu, and even debut some long-awaited Paldea Pokémon.

In addition to wild spawns, you can hatch certain Pokémon during the event and participate in a series of special raids. As usual, the event will only take place for a limited time, so if you're hoping to capture any of the Pokémon, potentially snag a Shiny, or earn any of the other rewards, you'll want to ensure you complete all available tasks before the deadline.

This Pokémon Horizons Event Will Run For One Week

Unlike a large portion of limited-time Pokémon GO events that typically only last a weekend, the event will run for roughly one week, giving you plenty of time to complete tasks and earn rewards. Specifically, Pokémon Horizons' Celebration Event will begin onApril 16, 2025, at 10 am and conclude on April 22, 2025, at 8 pm local time.

Pokémon GO: Best Teams For Ultra League & Spring Cup: Great League Edition

There are great options for the Ultra League Cup and Spring Cup: Great League Edition in Pokémon GO, but the best teams will help win more battles.

For this event specifically, keep in mind that while some events allow you to claim any remaining rewards from timed research for a few days following the conclusion of the event, this one will not. Even if you've completed the tasks, if you have not claimed your rewards by 8 pm local time on April 22, 2025, you will lose them.

All Pokémon Debuts During Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event

A Paldea Pokémon With An Affinity For Hammers Will Be Smashing Their Way Into Pokémon GO

Unfortunately, while some players may have been hoping for more, there is only one evolutionary line from Paldea debuting as part of this event. Throughout the event, you will be able to encounter Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton in Pokémon GO. Be sure to utilize any Pinap Berries you have on hand when catching them to ensure you'll be able to fully evolve to Tinkaton before the event ends.

Evolving Tinkatink into Tinkatuff will require 25 Tinkatink Candy, while evolving Tinkatuff into Tinkaton will require 100 Tinkatink Candies.

Of course, these three Pokémon will remain part of the game following their debut, but once the event ends, the odds of finding them are going to drop significantly, which could make catching and evolving them difficult if you miss the event. Also, while it's not necessarily a new Pokémon, a special Floragato will be available as well, wearing a hat with Liko's pin in it. This unique event version of Floragato will only be available during the event, so be sure to grab it while you can.

All Raids During Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event & Best Counters

Participate In Raids For Additional Rewards & Pokémon

During the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event, there will be several different raids to participate in. Luckily for newer players, all raids taking place as part of the event will either be 1-Star or 3-Star raids. This means that players should be able to finish off the 1-Star raids relatively easily and without any additional help. Depending on your available Pokémon, the same may also be true for 3-Star raids, but either way, these raids won't be nearly as hard as some of the usual event raids.

To stand the best chance in raids, you'll still want to use the most optimal counter, even if it is just a 1-Star raid. The following raids and recommended counters for this Pokémon GO event include:

Keep in mind that these are suggestions, not the only correct answer. Even if you do not have the specified Pokémon recommended, you can still easily win. Just try to utilize the best Pokémon you have available to you with similar typing and movesets as the counter option suggested. There will also be an increased chance for Shinies for each of these Pokémon Raids, so keep an eye out and try to participate in as many as you can for the best odds.

All Wild Spawns During Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event

Be Sure To Keep An Eye Out For Increased Spawn Rates From Specific Pokémon

In addition to Pokémon that will be available through research tasks and raids, you'll also have an increased chance of catching several others through wild spawning. The Pokémon with increased spawn rates during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event include:

  • Quagsire
  • Shuckle
  • Slugma
  • Nosepass
  • Snorunt
  • Sprigatito
  • Floragato wearing a hat with Liko's pin
  • Fuecoco
  • Quaxly
  • Pawmi
  • Pikachu wearing Cap's hat

While almost all of these will also have increased shiny odds during the event, some will not. Specifically, Quaxly, Pawmi, and Quagsire will not have increased shiny odds during the event, despite having their spawn rates increased. That being said, this is still a great opportunity to farm for candy if you're missing the final evolution for some of these Pokémon. Additionally, Pikachu wearing Cap's hat that are encountered during the event will know the Charged Attack Volt Tackle.

As with most events, there will be both field and timed research tasks available during Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event. While there is a paid version that will offer more rewards to those who pay for the additional timed research, there is also a free version that provides plenty of rewards for those who don't wish to pay anything out of pocket.
