Pokémon TCG Pocket Player Finds A Can't-Miss Wonder Pick God Pack

An extremely unlikely Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Wonder Pick lets one player finally finish their Genetic Apex collection. The mobile version of the Pokémon TCG has allowed many fans worldwide to open virtual card packs and collect digital cards. The Genetic Apex set is the first set that was available to players, and although another pack has since been released, some fans are still working toward finishing the original set.

Reddit user Gekk0uga37 is one of these, and they only had one full-art Illustration Rare card left to collect when they spotted the perfect Wonder Pick. The pack contained five identical Diglett one-star cards, featuring the full-art cards of the Pokémon. The Redditor calls it a "Diglett God pack," referring to the extremely lucky TCG phenomenon when all the cards contained in a pack are especially valuable or rare. And, since the card is the only one they had left to collect, they say they "cannot miss."

Inquiring fans like andy888andy want to know, though: "Which one did you pull?" The original poster responded with a screenshot showing the card that they ended up getting and, surprise, it was a Diglett. The original Redditor writes jokingly, "Top right Diglett, wanted the bottom left one tho."

Lucky Pokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick Is Not As Lucky As It Seems

The Pack Is "Tragic" For The Original Person Who Pulled It

Even when players have no luck of their own,the Wonder Pick feature of the gamegives fans a second chance to get someone else's luck. Wonder Pick lets players pick a card from someone else's recent pack opening. Most of the time, getting the card players want is a matter of luck, since the cards are flipped to the back and shuffled before players can pick. In the case of Gekk0uga37, though, there was no way to miss the card since they were all the same.

But while the pack was a lucky one for the Redditor, it's not quite as lucky for the original player who got the pack. PatronizingTurkey on Reddit points out that "this is tragic for that person" since it must have been incredibly disappointing to get a God pack and have every single card turn out to be the same Diglett. User HankyPankyKong adds that this is their worst fear in the game, "finally cracking that magic pack I’ve been chasing just to see 5 semi rare duplicates."

It seems that even God packs are a matter of luck since it's possible to get a rare pack and still not find a single new card. Still, hanging on for that extra-special rare pack full of special cards is usually worth it. Players who struggle with luck can always keep trying the Wonder Picks for the cards they're missing, but getting a God pack can knock out a bunch of missing cards in one go.

Getting a rare pack is so desirable that several theories have popped up about things that players can potentially do to make the packs more likely to show up. There's no evidence as of right now that using any of these special tips increases the rate of rare cards spawning. Still, it doesn't take much time or effort to spin the pack a few more times before opening it, especially if there's a chance you can get an extra-special Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocketpack.
