The proposed Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Act would earmark up to .75 percent of state sales tax for conservation purposes, such as maintaining parks and wildlife management areas and buying additional public lands (it would not raise taxes). Proponents say the measure, which would require voter approval as a constitutional amendment, would raise up to $20 million each year.
