Rachel Recchia Exposes The Truth About Why The Bachelorette Was Canceled In 2025 As This Scandalous Reality Show Takes Its Place

Fans might need to swap roses for dirty sodas this year, as former stars Rachel Recchia, Ashley Iaconetti and Trista Sutter dropped some major tea about the scrapped season of The Bachelorette. Bachelor Nation was rocked recently when it was revealed that The Bachelorette season 22 will not be airing in 2025. Host Jesse Palmer later tried to reassure fans, but questions still spread all over the Internet about what this meant for the franchise, including which show would take its place and if Bachelor In Paradise would finally return.

Rachel Recchia revealed jaw-dropping insider information about why The Bachelorette won't be airing in 2025.

During a recent episode ofThe Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast, Rachel and Ashley shared insider information regarding the recent announcement about The Bachelorette--and the reason might cause some drama. They claimed that ABC had already planned another season of The Bachelorette, and even cast a woman to star in it. Rachel admitted she was "shocked" by the bombshell news because the lead star they cast "made sense to me." Also, since she was a part of the franchise, she normally hears insider info before anyone else, but she "didn't hear anything" ahead of time.

ABC opted to scrap The Bachelorette in 2025 in favor of The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives season 2, which first streams on Hulu and later airs on ABC. The saucy reality show about the exploits of a group of Mormon moms living in Utah (dubbed #MomTok) became a huge sensation after their show premiered on Hulu last year, so much so that Bachelorette producers have taken notice. The two shows share the same demographic, and SLOMW will reportedly air in the regular time slot that normally airs The Bachelorette.

"Well, first of all, I was shocked because I heard they picked the lead. I heard the lead was decided, and it made sense to me who they picked. Again, rumors. And then all of a sudden, I saw this on Instagram...Normally, I feel like we hear stuff on the inside. I didn't hear anything."

The disclosure isn't a good sign for ABC's venerable dating show. Fans are probably concerned that The Bachelorette may never return, although Trista seemed sure that skipping this season would be temporary, reasoning that ABC has a full docket of Bachelor-related shows for 2025, including the current season of The Bachelor, Bachelor In Paradise, The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette. The women pointed out that without The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, there would be no Bachelor In Paradise to feed cast members into, so it seems likely the show will return eventually.

Our Take On The Bachelorette Choosing A Lead Ahead Of Canceled 2025 Season

The Identity Of The Would-Be Bachelorette Wasn't Revealed

It's never a good sign for a network to skip an entire season of a show, especially one like The Bachelorette, and especially after they'd already allegedly chosen a lead. According to Rachel, the lead was chosen just after Grant Ellis' season of The Bachelor finished filming, and Rachel even claimed to know the name of the woman they'd chosen (which she did not reveal on the podcast). Rachel, Ashley and Trista also attributed the decision to skip The Bachelorette to the low ratings of Grant's season of The Bachelor, especially compared to the ratings of Joey Graziadei's season.

Last season, Jenn Tran's journey as The Bachelorette kept viewers hooked, especially her disastrous break-up with winner Devin Strader. It also led to Jenn competing on Dancing With The Stars. In the TV world, though, it's not about Bachelorette contestants finding true love. It's about ratings, which the scandalous moms of TheSecret Lives Of Mormon Wives are expected to deliver for the network.
