Netflix's Running Pointhas an excellent and diverse cast of characters. Netflix's new comedy premiering February 27, 2025, Running Point is about Isla Gordon, the only daughter in a large family. The Gordon family runs the Los Angeles Waves basketball team, something Isla has always wanted to be part of. But her family ignored Isla despite her unwavering love and ambition for basketball. However, after a scandal that forces her brother to resign, Isla unexpectedly becomes president of the team. Now, Isla has to prove herself to her brothers and the industry.

Running Point has an impressive cast featuring various actors of different backgrounds. The showrunners—Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen—gathered talented actors to portray these eccentric and compelling characters. Some of the actors are well-known in Hollywood, including Kate Hudson, who plays the lead. Hudson is surrounded by familiar and new faces, who are excellent choices selected for the roles in Running Point.

Kate Hudson As Isla Gordon

Isla Gordon was largely inspired by Jeanie Buss, the president and owner of the Los Angeles Lakers—and she is a significant reason Hudson took this role (via Netflix).

Brenda Song As Ali Lee

Actor: Brenda Song is renowned for her decade at Disney Channel, primarily as the rich but dimwitted London Tipton in The Suite Life series. Born in Sacramento, California, Song moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Character: Brenda Song portrays Ali Lee, Isla's best friend and the chief of staff of the Los Angeles Waves. Ali is close with the Gordon family and understands them like no one else. Ali is from Chicago, and she portrays an intelligent but slightly intimidating personality.

Drew Tarver As Sandy Gordon

Actor: Drew Tarver was born and raised in a small town in Georgia. He has three younger siblings, including musician Katelyn Tarver. After high school, Tarver moved to New York City but eventually transferred to Los Angeles for his acting career. His first role was as a guest star in Animal Practice, but his breakout role was Baxter Reynolds in Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. Tarver has appeared in several iconic shows, such as Big Time Rush, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Superstore, before landing one of the lead roles in MAX's The Other Two.

Scott MacArthur As Ness Gordon

Actor: Scott MacArthur is an American actor who has acquired several small acting roles since his debut with Mad TV in 2006. Character: Scott MacArthur plays Ness Gordon, the eccentric and sensitive general manager of the Los Angeles Waves. Ness is the only Gordon family member who actually played basketball. Although his career was brief, Ness is determined to prove his worth to his family as the general manager.

Fabrizio Guido As Jackie Moreno

Actor: Fabrizio Guido is an American actor born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He pursued acting from a young age, beginning with short films before moving on to TV shows and movies. Guido's first big role was Demetrio Hernandez in Welcome to the Family, but Guido really made it big as Mikey Gutierrez in Mr. Iglesias. Most recently, Guido starred in Good Burger 2 as Mr. Jensen and had a recurring role as Rafael Gallardo in HBO's Perry Mason.

Character: Fabrizio Guido portrays Jackie Moreno in Running Point, an avid Los Angeles Waves fan and popcorn vendor whose life changes when he becomes part of the Waves' inner circle. Jackie plans to work through the Waves' organization, but it will not happen without encountering a few obstacles along the way.

Toby Sandeman As Marcus Winfield

Actor: Toby Sandeman is a British actor from London, England. Although Toby Sandeman is a full-time actor now, he grew up pursuing athletics. Sandeman initially wanted to play rugby but eventually became a runner, even winning gold medals at the European Athletics U23 Championships representing the United Kingdom. When Sandeman injured his hamstring, his modeling career made significant strides, and eventually, he gave up running because of physical health issues. Sandeman's first acting role—which was also his big break—was Prince Sebastian Idrisi in The Royals.

Character: Sandeman plays Marcus Winfield in Running Point, the most renowned basketball player on the Los Angeles Waves. However, he loses his passion for basketball, which greatly affects the team. Isla is determined to find Marcus' heart in basketball once more.

Actor: Chet Hanks is Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's eldest son. Max Greenfield As Lev Levenson

Actor: Max Greenfield grew up in Westchester, New York. Actor: Justin Theroux is an American actor who became invested in the visual arts at a young age—he even graduated with a B.A. in visual arts and drama from Bennington College, located in Vermont. In addition to acting, Theroux also starred in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway musicals. Character: Justin Theroux portrays Cam Gordon in Running Point, the oldest Gordon sibling and the president of the Los Angeles Waves. Cam is a know-it-all who often finds himself in trouble, requiring his younger siblings to help him despite insisting he does not need it. According to Netflix, Cam is Isla's "disgraced" older brother.

DiLiegro portrays Badrag Knauss in Running Point, a surprisingly thoughtful basketball player for the Los Angeles Waves.

Keyla Monterroso Mejia as Ana Moreno: Keyla Monterroso Mejia is an American actress born and raised in Southern California. Monterroso Mejia starred in various short films before landing her first big project, a recurring role in HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm as Maria Sofia Estrada. Since then, Monterroso Mejia has starred in Netflix's Freeridge and has had supporting roles in Suncoast, One of Them Days, and You're Cordially Invited. In Running Point, Monterroso Mejia portrays Ana Moreno, Jackie Moreno's cousin. She is an intelligent and career-driven injury lawyer.

Roberto Sanchez as Stephen Ramirez: Roberto Sanchez is a Cuban actor who has appeared in a plethora of TV shows, including Arrested Development, Desperate Housewives, The Young and the Restless, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Criminal Minds, ER, Prison Break, Bones, Castle, Chicago P.D., and The Resident. He has also appeared in multiple NCIS and Law & Order shows. Sanchez began his impressive career in the 1990s, and his first big role was in 2 Fast 2 Furious as Roberto. Sanchez plays Stephen Ramirez in Running Point, the head of the Los Angeles Waves board.

Scott Evans as Charlie: Scott Evans was born and raised in Massachusetts, United States. Similarly to his older brother, Chris Evans, Scott Evans became invested in acting at a young age. Evans' first big role was in the soap opera One Life to Live​​​​​​​ as Oliver Fish, but he has appeared in many other TV shows and movies since then. Netflix has been tight-lipped about Scott Evans' role in Running Point, but Deadline revealed he will portray Sandy Gordon's secret boyfriend, Charlie.

Uche Agada as Dyson Gibbs: Uche Agada's biography is one for the ages. After graduating from high school in New Jersey in 2020, he discovered an advertisement from basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo: Disney was looking for young Black actors to portray Antetokounmpo in a film about his life. Since no prior acting experience was required, Uche Agada sent in a tape, and he ended up securing his breakout role in Disney's Rise (via Forbes). Running Pointis only Agada's second acting project, where he will play Dyson Gibbs, a new basketball player intent on proving himself to his new team.
