Sausalito Hikers, Homeowners Spar Over Trailhead Access

A shortcut to a series of trails runs through a neighborhood--and residents aren't happy about it.

Hikers have long accessed a series of trails in Sausalito via a shortcut on Wolfback Ridge Road, but area residents recently cut off access by erecting signs warning of towing if people parked on the private street. One hiker retaliated by posting his own sign accusing the homeowners of trying to restrict access to public land (in more colorful language). Residents argue that the hikers pose a safety issue, while hikers counter the access rights on Wolfback Ridge Road are unclear.
