Sen. Flake Moves to Lift Protections for Mexican Gray Wolves

He introduced a bill that would remove the wolves from the endangered species list if their population reaches a minimum of 100.

Last week, Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) introduced a bill that would lift endangered species protections from Mexican gray wolves living in Arizona and New Mexico if their population is found to be at least 100. Wildlife advocates counter that number is much too low and argue that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service should stick to its goal of at least 320 wolves (determined last November).
