Despite nearly normal snowfall last winter, the Southwest’s severe drought is back, according to researchers. The University of Arizona Tree Ring Lab’s recent study looked at tree growth patterns and beams in indigenous ruins to confirm that the region’s six-year drought is the longest extreme dry stretch for 675 years.
