Sister Wives: Is Kody Weaponizing Coyote Pass To Punish His Exes For Leaving? (Gwendlyn Brown Thinks So)
Kody Brown is struggling after his three Sister Wives ended their relationship, and now he's using his anger to retaliate against Janelle Brown. He married his first wife, Meri Brown, in 1990 and, over the following years, welcomed Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown as his wives. During the past 30 years, Kody has had 18 children with his four wives and has enjoyed being the patriarch of his plural family. However, he developed a closer bond with Robyn, causing his first three wives to feel unloved. Ultimately, Christine left Kody in November 2021 and married her soulmate, David Woolley.
Shortly after Christine left the plural family, Janelle and Meri decided to part ways with Kody due to his favoritism towards Robyn. Meri is focused on growing her new business, WorthyUp, while Janelle prioritizes time with her children. Despite moving on with her life, Janelle feels frustrated about the Coyote Pass land dispute with Kody. He has prioritized his life with Robyn and hasn't started building on the land, making Janelle feel like the money she invested in the land has been wasted. She is frustrated by Kody's delay in progressing on Coyote Pass.
Gwendlyn Thinks Kody's Punishing Janelle By Delaying The Sale Of Coyote Pass
Kody Absolutely Refuses To Let Janelle Receive Her Fair Share
While Janelle's frustration increases as she sees her investment diminishing, Kody is procrastinating the sale of the land, likely due to his anger towards her. He's holding onto the land because he appears afraid to lose control and allow Janelle to receive her fair share of the investment.
Recently, Gwendlyn Brown responded to a fan's theory that, "Kody delayed on prioritizing the paying off of coyote land to punish Janelle." She agreed, saying, "I feel like one of the most likely reasons could be that he was just doing it as a punishment to Janelle."
Meri Could Use The Money Too
Meri Isn't Receiving A Fair Share Of Land From Kody
Kody could also be punishing his other ex-wife, Meri, for leaving polygamy.
Unlike the other Sister Wives, Meri doesn't have a big family or many children. She is a mother of one and doesn't have a partner to support her in her older age. While Meri is still young and working hard to support herself, she should receive an equal share of the Coyote Pass land. Kody has no right to give Meri the smallest portion of the property, as she needs as much money as possible to secure her future expenses.
Is Kody Really This Petty?
Kody Shows A Severe Lack Of Empathy Towards His Ex-Wives
Kody's history of being self-centered is evident in his recent behavior regarding the Coyote Pass property.
While some may view his actions as a form of punishment towards his former wives, a closer look reveals greed is likely the driving force behind his decisions. From disregarding Meri and Janelle's feelings in the past to forcing Janelle to kick their sons during the pandemic, Kody has consistently shown a lack of empathy. Whether it's melting Meri's wedding ring and telling her to live in his barn, Kody's disturbing behavior is sadly not surprising to many Sister Wives viewers.
