Sister Wives: Robyn Brown’s Power Play To Push Kody’s Older Kids Out Of The Core Family Is Failing (Does Kody See She’s The Problem?)
Sister Wivesstar Robyn Brown’s power play to push Kody Brown’s older kids out of the core family may have worked for years, but it’s beginning to fail as Kody may see the issues his wife is causing. Throughout the run of Sister Wives, Kody has been losing touch in his relationships outside of the one he shares with Robyn and their kids. When Christine Brown chose to leave Kody during Sister Wives season 17, it set off a domino effect that caused Janelle Brown and Meri Brown to reconsider their marriages and ultimately leave the family patriarch.
Throughout Sister Wives season 19, viewers have watched as Kody’s life has changed. This season, Kody has been settling into his life differently, as he only has one wife to care for, and his ex-wives and their children have put up more of a united front. Kody’s behavior has been interesting throughout the season, as he seems to be finding more clarity surrounding what he wants from his older kids, who aren’t as interested in talking to him. While Kody’s partially to blame, Robyn’s idea of the core family doesn’t include the older kids, which could have been a problem all along.
Kody & Robyn’s Marriage Damaged His Relationship With His Kids
She Didn’t Want Them As Involved As Her Own Kids
Although Kody and Robyn’s relationship has been one he’s admitted is his most important, but his relationships with his older kids have become more difficult as his marriage with Robyn has continued. Throughout the last several years, it’s been clear that Kody’s relationship with Robyn has made his connections to his older kids worse, especially when she’s gotten in the middle. Robyn pushed Kody to focus more strongly on her and the children they share, including her kids from her previous marriage, essentially ignoring his other children and neglecting his relationships with them. Robyn convinced Kody to make no effort.
Kody’s Open To Fixing Things With His Kids In The Future
He’s Said They Have To Come to Him
Although Robyn has made it clear that she doesn’t want Kody to rebuild his relationships with his older children, he’s shared that if they’re interested in having a connection with him, he’d be open to repairing things. Unfortunately, Kody’s been clear that if there were to be newly reformed relationships with his older kids, the first steps would have to come from the kids themselves. Rather than being the bigger person or trying to reach out to his kids, Kody would prefer his adult children to try and bridge the gaps themselves so he can assess whether they’re genuine.
Could Kody See That Robyn Is The Roadblock Between Him & His Kids?
He’d Have To Be Open To The Idea That Robyn’s An Issue
As Kody and Robyn have continued in their marriage, it’s been clear to Sister Wivesviewers that he’s been swayed by her in many ways. Kody’s relationships with his older kids have become vastly more difficult as they’ve moved through the years, and that has a lot to do with the fact that Robyn’s in his ear about what she wants their lives to look like. If Robyn doesn’t want Kody close to his other kids, she’s willing to make it seem like they’re a negative factor in his life.
Although Kody has a mind of his own and can make his decisions about his kids, it’s clear that Robyn’s decision not to pursue relationships with his older children is a big part of his avoidance. While Kody is open to talking to the older kids, his decision to have them approach him makes it seem less likely that he’ll find them willing to do so, as he’s chosen not to be the parental figure in his kids’ lives. With Robyn omnipresent, the Sister Wives patriarch may never find himself back in his kids’ good graces.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
