Sister Wives: Signs Kody's Life Isn't So Perfect Anymore (The New Coyote Pass Scandal, Robyn's "Core Family" Comment, and Meri's Cryptic "Looks" Diss Are Clues)

Kody Brown from Sister Wives is no longer living his best life with Robyn Brown amid family drama with his ex-wives, especially Meri and Janelle Brown. He was formerly a polygamous man with a big, beautiful family. Kody, a 56-year-old Flagstaff resident, was married to Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown and raised 18 children with them over the years. He had one child with Meri, six children with Janelle, six children with Christine, and two children with Robyn. Kody also adopted Robyn's three children from a previous marriage, becoming their legal father.

Kody's polygamous family began to fall apart when he started favoring Robyn, causing tensions in his other relationships. In 2020, Kody grew distant from all of his wives except Robyn. He imposed COVID-19 rules on his family and tried to force them to follow his commands. Ultimately, Kody's other wives grew tired of his behavior and left him. Christine moved on in 2021 and married a new man named David Woolley in 2023. Janelle focused on spending time with her children. Likewise, Meri moved forward for her own happiness, starting a new business and letting go of the past.

Meri Shared Shocking Details About Inequality At Coyote Pass

Kody Gave Meri A Smaller Portion Of The Land

Kody has always been a proponent of polygamy. However, Meri, Janelle, and Christine's exit forced him to enter a monogamous relationship with his favorite wife, Robyn, creating more problems for him. Over the months, Kody has tried to move forward with his life and appears happy on social media. He has acted as if things are going well for him, but the recent incidents suggest that he's not too pleased about his newfound monogamy and isn't enjoying all the negative attention. He's unhappy about all the revelations, especially Meri's recent accusations of inequality related to the Coyote Pass land.

In the January 2025 episode of Sister Wives, Meri made some bold claims exposing her former husband, Kody. She accused Kody of unfairly dividing the Coyote Pass land among his family members and attempting to give her the smaller portion. "he's like, 'well, you don't need as much because you don't have as many kids," Meri explained by revealing the real reason Kody didn't want to give her a bigger portion of the property.

Meri added, "because I only have one child, I am not entitled to an equal portion of the property."

Robyn's "Core Family" Comment Raised Eyebrows

Kody & Robyn's Marriage Doesn't Look Perfect Anymore

Kody is unhappy about the drama with his former wives. It has damaged his public image, and Robyn's comment has only made it more difficult for him to become likable again.

In Sister Wives season 19, Robyn makes a comparison, implying that she always considers herself and her children superior to other Brown family members. She refers to herself and her children as the "core" members of Kody's family, implying that other Sister Wives and their kids aren't on the same level. While fans already knew it was true, the fact that Robyn said it outright makes Kody look bad.

Robyn's recent "core" family remark can put more stress on her relationship with Kody. Over the months, she has struggled to accept monogamy, begging Kody to do something about it. She has made confusing comments about how it would be wrong for Kody to marry someone new but has been open to accepting one of the Sister Wives back into their family. Unfortunately, Robyn's behavior and personality have put a lot of stress on her marriage. The recent episodes show Kody looking more stressed and unpredictable than he has been in years, proving he's no longer living his ideal life.

Meri May Have Taken a Sly Dig About Kody's Looks

Meri Wants Her Next Partner To Be Tall

Meri was once one of Kody's most loyal partners. She was not only his first wife, but also the person who allowed him to practice polygamy. Meri invited Christine, Janelle, and Robyn into their family and gave up a lot for her marriage. Unfortunately, she could never make Kody respect and love her as much as he respected and loved Robyn. Meri divorced Kody, allowing him to legally adopt Robyn's three children. Despite that, Kody never really repaid Meri's support, leading her to fall in love with a catfish scammer on social media.

Meri left Kody permanently in 2023. After that, she changed her life and began focusing more on her own goals. Meri started speaking her mind instead of always being polite.

Recently, she subtly threw shade at Kody's appearance while talking about her potential next partner. While talking to Parade Magazine, she expressed her desire for her next partner to be supportive and "tall," suggesting that Kody's height of 5 feet 11 inches wasn't that attractive to her.

Meri added, "somebody who's independent, somebody who can treat me with kindness and honesty and respect, who can meet my energy."

Is Kody's Life Falling Apart?

Kody's Relationships With Robyn & His Adult Children Are Deteriorating

With all the drama with Robyn, backlash from TLC viewers, criticism from his ex-wives, and differences with his children, Kody's life is certainly in a downward spiral. He was the patriarch of his polygamous family up until 2020. However, his life is no longer the same, as he has lost almost everything he held dearly. Kody is no longer the center of attention in his family, as all his former wives have moved on to bigger and better things. His ex-wife, Christine, has already married her soulmate, David, and has become Sister Wives' main character.

Kody has also lost contact with several of his children. His issues with Gabriel, Paedon, and Gwendlyn Brown are well-known to the public. Unfortunately, he also lost his son, Garrison Brown, in March 2024, a tragedy that deeply affected the entire Brown family. Kody's life is unraveling as he adjusts to monogamy after spending nearly thirty years as a polygamous man. He is facing challenges with his last remaining wife, Robyn, and it won't be surprising if she divorces him in the future. Rumors are now circulating that the network may cancel Sister Wives.
