Solo Leveling Season 2 Reveals New Arc As Jinwoo Faces His Biggest Rematch Yet
After wrapping up the Red Gate arc, the anticipated third episode of Solo Leveling Season 2 has just revealed its story, teasing Jinwoo's next big mission. In Solo Leveling season 2, episode 2, Sung Jinwoo gained a new shadow knight after killing Kim Chul, managed to defeat the dungeon boss’ Baruka, and safely returned home, which proves how much stronger he has gotten after his job class changed to monarch of shadows. However, in the upcoming episode, Jinwoo will put his new strength to the test, remembering his original reason for gaining power; his family.
While Sung Jinwoo is changing to become more ruthless, he is still a family-oriented guy at heart, and according to a post on the series’ official website, Solo Leveling's episode 15, titled "Still a Long Way to Go," would demonstrate the scale of Jinwoo’s shadow army by returning to the dungeon he failed to clear in season 1.
Solo Leveling’s Demon Castle Arc Will Feature Sung Jinwoo’s Return to the Instant Dungeon
Sung Jinwoo’s Goal Is Still To Cure His Mother’s Illness
Solo Leveling’s official website disclosed the story of episode 3, revealing that Sung Jinwoo will face the S-Rank Instant Dungeon again. In the Demon Castle is the recipe for the “holy water of life,” which is an item capable of curing any disease and Jinwoo hopes could cure his mother's illness, the Eternal Slumber. The last time Jinwoo went to the Demon Castle was in Solo Leveling episode 7, where he defeated, not without much struggle, the three-headed monster gatekeeper Cerberus. But Jinwoo left without entering the dungeon due to him not being powerful enough to face that challenge yet.
Sung Jinwoo and Jinho have fulfilled their promise to conquer 19 dungeons, and his level has increased since he fought Cerberus. In order to gather materials for the "Holy Water of Life" that may cure his mother's illness, he once again challenges the S-Rank dungeon "Demon's Castle." The condition imposed on Sung Jinwoo to clear the quest there is to collect 10,000 demon souls.
Sung Jinwoo was level 20 and just barely survived but has obviously upgraded since then, as he defeated Baruka thanks to Igris and Iron’s help, and he was willing to face even the master of the White Tiger’s Guild, who is an S-Rank Hunter. So it’s safe to assume that Jinwoo is already more powerful than an A-Rank hunter, so he could aim to challenge the dungeon once again. However, if his shadow army is powerful enough to clear an S-Rank dungeon, it's something that will be seen in Solo Leveling Season 2, episode 3.
Sung Jinwoo Could Face Other Troubles in the Upcoming Arc of Solo Leveling Season 2
What Will Happen to Sung Jinwoo's Future as a Hunter?
With the confirmation that Sung Jinwoo had already finished his promise with Jinho, his future as a hunter is unclear. Sung Jinwoo was hiding his powers to not be mistaken as a false ranker; however, it would be impossible for him to hide anymore, as many people had already witnessed his strength in action in the Red Gate's dungeon.
This opens the question whether Jinwoo will continue with Jinho, join the White Tiger’s Guild, or if he will start another journey on his own, since he has a new personal army to face any possible threat. Nevertheless, given the series' name, fans can still hope to see how Jinwoo continues to increase his skill and gain more power as he levels up in Solo Leveling Season 2.
