Solo Leveling Season 2 Shares First-Look at Episode 2, Teasing a New Villain
The anticipated second episode of Solo Leveling Season 2 has just revealed its story, teasing Jinwoo's next big enemy. The premiere of Solo Leveling season 2 put Jinwoo and the E-Rank hunter Hang Song Yi in a daring situation. And just as Sung Jinwoo had easily taken charge as the leader of a small party after being abandoned by the raid leader of the Whiter Tigers’ guild, in the upcoming episode he might have to fight the strongest threat he has ever faced so far.
According to a post on the series’ official X account @sololeveling_pr, Solo Leveling's episode 14, titled "I Suppose You aren't Aware", is set to premiere on January 11, 2025, and viewers can now have a first glimpse of the Red Gate Dungeon’s boss sooner than expected.

The Scene Cuts Reveal the Ice Elves’ Boss Appearance
Solo Leveling’s official website disclosed that the figure who rises at the end of the anime's season 2 premiere was indeed the boss of the dungeon, an ice elf called Baruka who will meet Sung Jinwoo’s group in the upcoming episode. The preview also revealed that Baruka is the first Dungeon Boss capable of communicating, highlighting his intellect and that Sung Jinwoo can understand him, probably thanks to the System.
A few days have passed since Sung Jinwoo and the others stepped into the Red Gate. The dungeon boss Baruka, an ice elf, appears in front of team led by Jinwoo... to attack. For some reason, once Jinwoo understands the monster's speech, Baruka suggests Jinwoo gives up the rest of his team members if he wants to be spared…
This story preview also unveils that Baruka is acknowledging Jinwoo and is willing to spare his life in exchange for his team members. However, considering Jinwoo's determination to protect Song Yi and his resolve to grow stronger and fight his enemies, it's fair to predict that he won't take the villain's offer.

Additionally, the released scene cuts from Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 2 revealed a new shadow soldier teasing that Sung Jinwoo will probably Arise his first ally after Commander Igris. Jinwoo will probably need any help he can get, as he recently discovered in Solo Leveling episode #13, after testing his new ability with the iced bears, that the Shadow soldiers consume a great amount of mana, which will represent a challenge for him if he has to face a big horde of cunning elves.
The presence of Kim Chul, the raid leader, who is an A-rank hunter and the only one that survived from his group, could provide some assistance to Jinwoo, but his shock after being overpowered could predict otherwise. Either way, this preview fueled the interest of fans who will still have to wait till the release of Solo Leveling S2 Episode 2 on Crunchyroll to see what's next in Jinwoo’s power journey.
