Even though a scene in Solo Leveling chapter #81 where the two hunters talk about the implications of a gate appearing since it’s a remote island was cut from the adaptation, the scene of the ant coldly gazing at the hunters was improved in the anime. While the ants were already revealed to be threatening, their design in the manhwa isn’t that intimidating.

However, in the latest Solo Leveling episode, the Ant has a better character design than the ones who appeared in the original scenes in season 1, with a more menacing presence and a terrifying expression that leaves no place for doubt that it is hostile, and it’s targeting the hunters.
