As recovery from last October’s wildfires continues, Sonoma County officials are weighing measures to protect against the next fire season and the threat of mudslides. Ideas include expanding controlled burns, requiring more homeowners to clear debris around their houses, and using rainfall and stream monitoring to develop an early-warning system for floods and mudslides.
