Stardew Valley Player Makes One Of The Most Innocent Villagers Angry And Learns There Is No Going Back From It
One Stardew Valleyplayer learned the hard way that seven in-game years of friendship can be easily broken after kicking out roommate Krobus to get married. As one of the best role-playing games out there, the diverse characters that can be befriended and romanced make this indie gem as popular as it is. With plenty of relationships to forge, stories to learn, and characters to love, it's easy to grow attached to the NPCs the game holds near and dear.
When the user Frequent_Cycle44 decided they finally wanted to marry Leah, they didn't quite anticipate the outrage their roommate Krobus would have. After spending so many years living together, they thought it was time to move on, not realizing how it would impact their friendship. When they find him the next day in the sewers with their friendship completely reset, Krobus refuses to even accept a gift to make it better.
Krobus Doesn't Mess Around With Friendship In Stardew Valley
Don't Ruin Relationships Like This In Stardew Valley
Devastated that their in-game best friend of 7 years would no longer speak to them, Frequent_Cycle44 came to Reddit hoping for a way to fix things. Asking "Is there any way I can become friends with Krobus again if he won’t accept my gifts?", the desperate player hoped to find a way to repair the damage. Thankfully, one player came to the rescue with a way to make things better again: "You'll have to erase his memory at the shrine with 30k gold!"
While it is fixable to start a new slate in Stardew Valley, it probably won't feel quite the same after tarnishing such a long-running friendship. Despite Krobus having his own quirks and negatives as a roommate though, this player seems to be missing his presence more than expected. Revealing "I think I will start over after visiting the witch and let him move in again", it would seem that Krobus might be one of the best NPCs to live with after all.
Our Take: Keeping Everyone Happy In Stardew Valley Is A Major Task
NPCs Can Be A Lot Of Work
Building and maintaining friendships in Stardew Valley can be tricky, particularly as characters have such specific requirements to become closer. As growing these relations is a crucial part in the world-building and easing into Pelican Town, players will find themselves eager to please everybody. There are even mods to help out players with this tricky task, aiding them as they try to level up their relationships with townsfolk.
As each character has in-game likes, loves, and hates, it's important to be careful with choices in what you gift to NPCs. Not only that but choices like whom players romance or live with can be crucial, as the characters don't often like non-monogamy or being kicked out - as some learn the hard way. The characters in Stardew Valley make the title so much more warm and pleasing to play through, so players do need to be mindful of keeping everybody happy.
