Stardew Valley players are surprised to discover that a legendary cryptid is wandering around in their games after a rare sighting is reported. The Redditor turned to the community for help figuring out what these footprints mean, only to discover that the cause of the huge markings was Stardew Valley's resident cryptid, Bigfoot.

The rare sighting has caused other fans to come forward with their own sightings. Some players have seen the footprints too, but others report catching sight of Bigfoot itself running through the woods. Many sightings seem to happen around the Wizard's tower, but a handful were seen in other locations like on the mountain trail to Robin's house. Bigfoot even appears at inopportune moments, as Jonelololol found out when it showed up during a heart event with Emily.
What's likely supposed to be a silly Easter egg actually has some of the players freaked out. Many fans report feeling scared by the sighting, like blupblupbrr, whose Bigfoot moment happened when "it was raining and dark." The player didn't stick around to learn more about what they'd seen. Instead, they report that they "immediately noped outta there."

ConcernedApe Loves Adding Easter Eggs To Stardew Valley
The creator of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe, is known for adding silly Easter eggs to the title, like an entire basement labyrinth themed around the notorious favorite gym shorts of the mayor. The latest update even has tons of hidden new features not mentioned in the patch notes. Even now, months after Update 1.6 was initially released for PC, players are still discovering new secrets that ConcernedApe had included, like the ability to feed your horse for a speed buff.
The Bigfoot Easter egg has some players genuinely freaked out, though. Stardew Valley is a relaxing and cozy game, so seeing a dark shape suddenly go running through the woods as you're doing your everyday tasks is unnerving.
