Fire Country features a top-tier ensemble cast, including Stephanie Arcila, who plays Gabriela Perez. The American Mexican performer made history as the top-selling female musician in the regional Mexican music genre, a platform that was mostly dominated by men. This spinoff from Showtime’s historical dark fantasy series Penny Dreadful takes place in 1930s Los Angeles. Amidst racial tensions and the looming Nazi threat, a detective and his partner must contend with two warring supernatural beings in competition for the souls of humanity. The show stars Natalie Dormer as the seductive demon Magda, as well as Daniel Zovatto as Detective Tiago Vega, Nathan Lane as Detective Lewis Michener, and Rory Kinear as Peter Craft.

The sequel to the horror film Don’t Breathe, Don’t Breathe 2 had even more thrills that left audiences gasping for air. This time, blind Navy SEAL veteran Norman Nordstrom is the hero of the film, who now lives with his daughter, Phoenix. When Phoenix is abducted by a dangerous gangster named Raylan, Norman will stop at nothing to save her, including finding new inventive ways to take down his enemies.

Though her character didn’t get much screen time, she made every second count.

Fans of Fire Country will likely recognize Stephanie Arcila as Hernandez, a friend of Norman’s who is also an Army Ranger veteran. As one of Norman’s only connections with the outside world, she insists that Phoenix shouldn’t be holed up in the house all day like her dad. Unfortunately, Hernandez’s good intentions end up leading to her death at the hands of Raylan and his goons, as well as Phoenix’s kidnapping. Don’t Breathe 2 was Arcila’s first appearance in a major feature film, and though her character didn’t get much screen time, she made every second count.

Along with her other standout movie and TV roles, Stephanie Arcila has appeared in a variety of other titles. She got her start acting on Telemundo shows, such as Aurora, Ojo por Ojo, and Passions of the Heart. Later, she appeared in the short films I Hate This Part, Til Death Do Us Part, 22 Years, and Torture. In 2017, Arcila starred in the indie film The Aliens, and also had a supporting role in the 2022 action thriller, 9 Bullets, which stars Game of Thronesactor Lena Headey.

Arcila can be seen in several guest roles for popular TV shows. She played the role of Ms. Gomez in the Black-ish season 3 episode “Lemons,” which had a politically charged storyline following the 2016 presidential election. Arcila played a woman named Danielle in the season 15 episode of NCIS, “Keep Your Enemies Close,” in which Gibbs and the team align with a dangerous criminal in order to catch notorious serial killer, Gabriel Hicks.
