Supergirl Gets DCU Movie Poster In The Style Of James Gunn's Superman In Gorgeous DC Art
Milly Alcock's Kara Zor-El recreates David Corenswet's first Supermanposter in a fan-made DCU poster for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. As Superman's July 2025 release date approaches and more official footage and promotional material arrives, other DCU projects also move forward in their production. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow's cast keeps growing with the addition of characters such as Jason Momoa's Lobo and Matthias Schoenaerts' Krem, for instance, and it's just a matter of time until an official poster and an official trailer come out.
Inspired by the DCU's first official poster for James Gunn's Superman, MegaversoPopdesigns a similar promotional image for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which depicts Milly Alcock's Supergirl flying into the sky with vibrant streaks of light around her. Milly Alcock's Supergirl wears the Kryptonian hero's classic costume, and the tagline reads, "Rise Up" — a nod to the Superman poster's "Look Up". Check out the fan-made poster below:
What Supergirl's DCU Fan Poster Means For Milly Alcock's Kara Zor-El
The DCU's Supergirl Will Soon Get Her Time In The Spotlight
James Gunn's Superman trailers and poster promise a significant rebranding for the hero in the DCU, with a hopeful tone and a more lighthearted plot than previous big-screen outings. Just one year later, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow could do the same for Superman's cousin. Sasha Calle's Supergirl unfortunately didn't receive enough screentime in The Flash, and it has been more than forty years since Supergirl had a solo movie in theaters.
Our Take On The Supergirl DCU Fan Poster
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow's Source Material Offers Plenty Of Opportunities For Breathtaking Visuals
It's unknown whether David Corenswet's Superman will appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, or if Milly Alcock's Supergirl will appear in James Gunn's Superman. However, the DCU's Superman and Supergirl are bound to team up sooner rather than later. In the DCEU, Superman and Supergirl coexisted in the DCEU — albeit in different timelines — but they didn't get a chance to share the screen at any point. A nod to each other in their respective DCU movies is already a big step in the right direction before they join forces on the big screen.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow could be just as colorful as Superman, or even more. DC Comics' Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comics are a unique take on the character, with a lively cosmic setting, extravagant characters, and a vibrant art style. Craig Gillespie's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will likely pay homage to its source material's art with similarly striking cinematography. Still, some visual connections between James Gunn's Superman and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are to be expected, possibly including a similar poster, costume, and tagline in the latter.
