The Chi Season 7: Confirmation, Cast, & Everything We Know
Those waiting for when The Chi comes back on air won't have to wait much longer considering that there has been some news about the cast, filming, and more. The original Showtime TV series, The Chi, has been exploring the lives of those who live in the Southside neighborhood of the titular Chicago, Illinois since 2018. Starring Jacob Latimore as Emmett Washington, Alex R. Hibbert as Kevin Williams, and Yolonda Ross as Jada Washington, The Chi has explored the complexities of poor and Black communities with thoughtfulness mixed with humor and affection.
The Chi has seen a lot of turnover in even its most likable characters over the years, and each season feels just a little bit different for it. The Chi season 6 premiered in August 2023 with its finale coming in June 2024. Season 6 sees Emmett and Kiesha (Birgundi Baker) trying to keep their relationship together, Douda (Curtiss Cook) deals with the shifting loyalties of his inner circle, Kevin learning that early independence is not all it's cracked up to be, and more. The Chi season 7 looks to bring back some of these stories when it premieres.

The Chi Season 7 Story Details
Nuck's Power Grab Will Likely Be The Biggest Story
While no official synopsis has been released for The Chi season 7, season 6 ended with some major events that will surely be big parts of season 7. Nina moved away from Chicago at the end of the season, an emotional departure that will surely have reverberations. Nuck (Cortez Smith) will either have to answer for the killings of Douda and Rob (Iman Shumpert), or the season will follow his power grab of the neighborhood. Emmett and Kiesha find out Kiesha is pregnant, which will also likely be a major plotline.
Co-showrunner Justin Hillian said about season 7,
"We strive to tell a well-balanced story. You know, it's just like the city, the joy, the pain, the ups, the downs. All of it. And it will all continue."
So, along with these major storylines, fans can look forward to the smaller tales and adventures that have always made fans eager to learn when The Chi will come on.
