The Golden Bachelorette: Guy Gansert’s Recent Instagram Post Proves That Chock Chapple Has Red Flags (Chock Created Enemies Instead Of Friends While Filming)

One of the many front-runners on The Golden Bachelorette, Guy Gansert, shared a video alongside his favorite cast members that notably excludes the season’s winner: Chock Chapple. Guy was one of 24 contestants vying for the leading lady’s heart. While he and Joan shared a strong connection, he was ultimately eliminated before the finale, making him the season’s runner-up.

While this rejection was disappointing, Guy profited heavily from his stint on The Golden Bachelorette season 1. Between substantial compensation and lifelong friends, he is likely thankful for the opportunity. Several contestants established a “bromance” among themselves. Many of these men have remained in contact with one another post-filming, but Chock appears to have made more enemies than friends. His lack of comradery and criticism from other contenders may hint at major red flags.

Chock Wasn’t Part Of The Bromance

Chock Didn't Make Friends

In early January, Guy shared a video of him and his friends mouthing the lyrics to a popular country song. He and the other Bachelor alums enjoy the process, as they stifle laughter and miss words. The featured men include:

  • Guy Gansert
  • Gary Levingston
  • Keith Gordan
  • Dan Roemer
  • Mark Anderson
  • Pascal Igbui

While the singing challenge includes some popular names, Chock was notably nowhere to be seen. Chock attracted criticism for his stint on The Golden Bachelorette, as he avidly pursued Joan and created tension among the men. The competition was a fantastic opportunity for networking and building bonds, as the men shared a communal space and hours alone together. However, his standoffish behavior led some critics to believe that Chock may be difficult to get along with.

Chock’s Actions Were Heavily Criticized

Chock didn’t make many friends on the show. While other contestants enjoyed the opportunity to vacation with like-minded individuals, Chock was gunning for Joan’s attention. Winning the competition may be the ultimate goal, but damaged relationships are not necessary to win. His presence may have left a bad taste in other’s mouths. One event in particular raised questions about his authenticity.

On a group bowling date, in which the men were supposed to share Joan’s attention, Chock monopolized her time. Several competitors complained about his behavior. The men felt Chock was possessive of Joan and borderline love-bombing.

According to WebMD, “love bombing is an intense display of affection and attention used to manipulate or control someone, often seen in abusive relationships.”

His actions were so upsetting Pascal, the last man shown in Guy’s video, mentioned the events in an interview with Glamour magazine. Pascal, prompted by the interviewer, claimed, “Chock was all over her to the point where he was [like a] stalker.” He hinted at some ingenuity, as well, stating that, as older men, it’s not as easy to fall in love. Nevertheless, Chock fell hard and fast.

While his behavior on the show may have been questionable, Chock and Joan seem to share a rare connection. Since the finale and their engagement, the pair have followed through on their commitments. As they dedicate more time together and integrate their families, it becomes obvious Chock genuinely loves Joan.

Chock may have a more difficult time creating friendships, and that's understandable. The circumstances and environment during the filming of The Golden Bachelorette may have made bonding more intimidating. While he didn’t leave the experience with many friendships, Chock found the most important connection through his fiancé, Joan.

The Golden Bachelorette is available to stream on Hulu.
