The Golden Bachelorettestar Joan Vassos’ trust in her fiancé Chock Chapple could wind up being her biggest downfall as she moves further into her relationship and invests more in her partner. Joan, who was introduced to Bachelor Nation during The Golden Bachelor season 1, has been able to make a name for herself after her original appearance on the first series. After becoming the lead of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Joan found love and seemed happier than ever on the series. Her relationship with Chock has been difficult for some Bachelor Nation viewers to understand and get behind.
Despite Joan’s time on The Golden Bachelorette being relatively easy viewing, her relationship with Chock has brought forth the most vitriol and criticism from Bachelor Nation. Viewers have struggled throughout the post-season to understand where Joan is coming from when she defends Chock’s actions and tries to make him seem like he has no flaws. While Joan, who was married to her first husband John Vassos for over 30 years, has been open about her journey on the series, it appears that her trust in Chock is stronger than viewers can comprehend. Joan’s trust in Chock could be her downfall.
Joan Shared Her Golden Bachelorette Experience With Chock
The Pair Grew Together
When it was announced that Joan would become the first ever Golden Bachelorette, Bachelor Nation was excited at the prospect of seeing her find love. After Joan left The Golden Bachelor season 1 early due to a family emergency, many were disheartened because they had wanted to see where her relationship would end up. Seeing Joan take on the leading role was exciting for viewers, and ultimately helped hype up the first season of the Golden spinoff.
During her time as The Golden Bachelorette, Joan got to know many guys throughout the season. Her relationship with Chock was one that Bachelor Nation had a difficult time wrapping their mind around. Chock exhibited some major red flags that Bachelor Nation latched onto very quickly, making it clear that they had a hard time with the way that he isolated himself from other contestants and the intense feelings he appeared to be forming for Joan very quickly. Even so, Chock won Joan’s heart.

She Trusted Him With Something Delicate
In a recent Instagram post, Joan explained that she spent the four-year anniversary of her husband's passing with Chock. The engaged couple, who has been vetting New York City real estate, saw Left On Tenth, a show about mature relationships and second chances at love. Joan Could Wind Up Heartbroken After Sharing Everything With Chock
She May Regret Her Decisions
While Joan and Chock’s relationship seems special to them both, it appears that Joan is heavily investing in the support she's receiving from her fiance, but Chock doesn't appear to be meeting her emotional energy. Though Chock loves the spotlight, it doesn't seem like he invests quite as much in Joan emotionally. Joan may be trusting in Chock to support her in ways that she can't support herself, which is what he is supposed to be doing as her fiance. However, he may not be ready to support her. The Golden Bachelorette could find herself heartbroken if she’s not careful.
