The MCU's Next WandaVision Sequel Casting News Has Convinced Marvel Fans Scarlet Witch's Other Son Is Returning
The MCU welcomes a new actor who joins Vision Quest in an ambiguous role, leading to speculations about the return of a WandaVision character. After the events of WandaVision, Scarlet Witch died trying to redeem herself; Agatha Harkness ventured down the Witches' Road before dying in Agatha All Along's finale, Billy Maximoff reincarnated in the body of Billy Kaplan, White Vision's whereabouts are still unknown ahead of the MCU's upcoming Vision Quest show, and Tommy Maximoff's reincarnation was teased by Billy's attempt to locate his soul using magic. Now, Tommy might be one step closer to reuniting with Billy.
On February 6, 2025, Deadline reports that actor Ruaridh Mollica has been cast in Vision Quest in the role of "Tucker." There is currently no additional information about Mollica's MCU role. However, fans have taken to social media to speculate Tucker's real identity. Considering the true identity of Joe Locke's Agatha All Along character was concealed before the show premiered and Billy was only known as "Teen" for half of Agatha All Along's episodes, it's possible that Ruaridh Mollica's "Tucker" character is actually an alternative name for Billy's twin brother, Tommy Maximoff. Marvel fans theorize:
X user @BillyKaplanUpd points out some similarities between actor Ruaridh Mollica and Tommy Maximoff a.k.a. Speed, stating, "Mollica is 25 and queer, and tommy is notably bisexual". A few similar qualities led many fans to correctly guess the real identity of Joe Locke's "Teen" character in Agatha All Along, as Locke is openly queer, like Billy Maximoff a.k.a. Wiccan. Although Joe Locke is 25 and Ruaridh Mollica is 25, the fact that Wiccan and Speed reincarnate in different bodies means the twins could be different ages when they reunite in the MCU.
X user @kingdjarins speculates that Ruaridh Mollica isn't playing Tommy Maximoff. Instead, Mollica could be playing Vision's synthezoid son Vin, who has a twin sister called Viv and a synthezoid mother called Virginia, also created by Vision. In the comics, Vision tries to live a peaceful life with his synthezoid family, but his wife and son die a tragic death, leaving only his daughter Viv to leave on her own and join a superhero team led by Ms. Marvel named "the Champions."
What The Vision Casting News Means For The MCU
Tommy Maximoff's Return Is Imminent
Tommy Maximoff's MCU return is clear, even more so than Billy's was before Agatha All Along. Now, the question is when and how the MCU will reveal Tommy's new body. At the moment, Ruaridh Mollica seems like a strong candidate due to his age, physical appearance, and the fact that his character "Tucker" will be introduced in Vision Quest — a series starring Tommy's father, Vision. Just like Billy and Agatha Harkness helped each other understand their past in Agatha All Along, Tommy and White Vision could discover their previous life simultaneously in Vision Quest.
Our Take On The Vision Quest Casting News
Vision Quest May Be Preparing Shocking Twists For MCU Fans
Vision Quest's premise may be one of the most mystifying among the MCU's upcoming movie and TV projects. Vision Quest will bring Ultron back after more than ten years of absence, will follow a version of Vision who only possesses a vague idea of who he used to be, and bears the title of a comic book storyline that features the Scarlet Witch, Vision and Wanda's children, and introduces the Great Lakes Avengers. The MCU's Vision Quest series will probably be very different from Marvel's eponymous comics, but the extent of its connections to the source material is yet to be seen.
Vision Quest could introduce a reincarnated Tommy Maximoff and follow him as he becomes the superhero Speed, similar to how Agatha All Along saw Billy Maximoff accept his power as Wiccan. Conversely, Vision Quest could take a different direction and instead focus on Vision's other family. Given that White Vision lost his original memories and personality, there's a chance he will try to build a new life from scratch by creating his own loved ones, Virginia, Viv, and Vin — the latter potentially played by Ruaridh Mollica. Marvel's 2015 The Vision comics, written by Tom King, would suit White Vision's attempt to find some normalcy after acquiring consciousness.
