The Sims 4 Player Replaces Unpopular New Home Screen With Beautiful Photos From In-Game Locations, Available For Free To All
The Sims 4 has a new home screen that isn't popular with players, so one fan has taken the matter into their own hands. The official new home screen shows the player's Sims standing against a vibrant primary blue and green background. Although the new design is less cluttered and focuses on the Sims, instead of game packs, it's turned out to be unpopular among players for its simplicity and childishly vibrant colors.
Reddit user Vlately has come up with a great alternative to the blank blue home screen. The Redditor shared their version of the screen, which shows two Sims standing on the boardwalk at Brindleton Bay Docks. Fellow Sims 4 players praise the design for being an improvement over the official new screen. Reddit user polkacat12321 says that they wish EA would stop trying to make the "horrible corporate bg they fail at over and over" and instead let players choose a "cinematic shot from each world." Vlately's designs now make this possible, and it seems may fans plan to adopt their creations to their own games.
Sims 4 Player Replaces New Home Screen With Stunning Location Images
The Creator Plans To Continue Adding Menu Image Options
Thanks to the popularity of the image, Vlately has made this and other background images available for players to download and use as CC for free through Patreon. A number of packs are already available to download, featuring images from popular locations like Glimmerbrook, Britechester, Oasis Springs, Willow Creek, and even the new Comfy Gamer kit introduced earlier this week. The imges are vibrant and well integrated, making it seem like the Sims are standing in the middle of the selected location.
The mod's creator plans to continue expanding the collection of main menu images. An early access tier is now available, allowing fans to get new designs and even make requests for more interior and exterior locations for just $3 a month. The images can still be acquired for free, though, as all early access packs will become available for free after 30 days.
The Sims 4 Player Creativity Extends To The Main Menu
Custom Content And Mods Expand Player Creativity Options
The Sims series is beloved by many for allowing players to be creative and express themselves however they want. The Sims 4 continues this creative freedom with many activities, from designing intricate houses to watching entire generations grow up and have kids of their own. Between regular paid and free content packs, there's already so much content to play with and explore. EA has recently decided that they'd continue working on The Sims 4 indefinitely, instead of making a brand new fifth game, so fans have plenty more content to look forward to.
Even so, fans are always creating even more ways to interact with the title. There are mods for a more realistic experience and ones that expand on existing features that could use some more love. Thanks to modders and creators like Vlately, The Sims 4 is constantly growing and evolving to suit players.
