The Wild Robot Streaming Release Date Revealed
The Wild Robot's streaming release date has now been revealed following its successful run in theaters. Directed by Chris Sanders and based on the book of the same name by Peter Brown, the animated family movie follows an intelligent robot named Roz (Lupita Nyong'o) as she becomes stranded on a remote island and bonds with the animals who call it home. The Wild Robot's Rotten Tomatoes critics' score is an impressive 97%, and the audience score is even better at 98%, and all of this means it will likely be a major draw for audiences on Peacock, too.
The Wild Robot's ending leaves the door open for more adventures with Roz and other key characters, and it's now been confirmed that a sequel is in early development at DreamWorks Animation. With overwhelmingly positive reviews and a strong response from a commercial standout, the sequel is now poised to also be a success. There's no word yet on when The Wild Robot 2 will actually hit theaters, but the first film being available on streaming will be a great way to maintain audience interest as development continues.
The sequel will presumably adapt the events of Brown's second book, The Wild Robot Escapes. Should that film also be a success, Brown has one more book in the series called The Wild Robot Protects.
