This Clue In Last Night’s The Masked Singer All But Confirms Paparazzo’s Identity

WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS ABOUT THE MASKED SINGER SEASON 13!The Masked Singer season 13 contestant Paparazzo's identity was all but confirmed to be actor Matthew Lawrence during Shrek Night due to a very revealing clue. The Masked Singer season 13 welcomed back host Nick Cannon, along with panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora. So far, Group A has performed on Premiere Night and Shrek Night, and consisted of Honey Pot (Cedric the Entertainer), Fuzzy Peas (Oscar De La Hoya), Ant, Coral, and Paparazzo.

Paparazzo has now advanced to the Group A finals of The Masked Singer season 13, which will take place on Rat Pack Night. During the Group A finals, Paparazzo, Ant, and Coral will compete for the two spots in the Lucky 6, while one of them will be unmasked. After that, Groups B and C will compete on theme nights that include Ghostbusters, Grand Ole Opry (in honor of its 100th anniversary), Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods, Carnival, Boy Bands, Decades, and Soundtrack of My Life Nights. Here's the important clue that might prove Paparazzo's true identity, and a few others that could confirm who he really is.

Paparazzo’s Shrek Night Clue Might Prove His True Identity As Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence Starred With Robin Williams In Mrs. Doubtfire

During The Masked Singer season 13 Shrek Night, Paparazzo's clue package was mainly about his friendship with the late actor, Robin Williams. A framed picture of Robin was seen in the clue package. Paparazzo shared that Robin was his hero and had made a deep impact on his life. He taught him that it's what's on the inside that matters most. Paparazzo revealed that Robin could tell that he needed some guidance, so he sat him down, and opened up about his own struggles.

Paparazzo shared that, in that moment, he learned the importance of kindness because people never know what others are going through. He said that it was a lesson that he'd carried with him his entire life. Paparazzo concluded by saying that Robin was his superhero, who taught him to see the bigger picture. Paparazzo had faith that he was looking down on him that night.

In 1993, Matthew starred as Robin's son in Mrs. Doubtfire, when he was 13 years old. It would make sense that he'd need some guidance at that age. It seems that Robin was the one who gave it to him, and it's stayed with him ever since. This clue all but confirms that Paparazzo is Matthew because of his special connection with Robin.

Other Clues That Prove That Paparazzo Is Matthew Lawrence

Paparazzo Had Never Performed On A Big Stage Before The Masked Singer

During The Masked Singer season 13 premiere night, Paparazzo said that his costume was perfect for him because the lens has been pointed in his direction for his entire life. Matthew was a child star, along with his brothers, Joey and Andrew. In 1984, Matthew made his TV debut playing Danny Carrington on Dynasty at the age of four.

Paparazzo added that he's done so many things in his career, but one thing that he's never had the chance to do is sing on a big stage. He admitted that he was terrified. Although Matthew and his brothers sometimes sing on their Brotherly Love podcast, among other places, Matthew has never sung on a big stage.

The Masked Singer season 13's Fuzzy Peas opens up about his time on the show, and how it inspired him to possibly restart his music career.

Another Masked Singer clue that pointed in Matthew's direction was when Paparazzo said that he took America's Sweetheart to the prom. Matthew took his Boy Meets World co-star, Danielle Fishel, to the prom. While she was playing Topanga on the show, she was one of America's sweethearts. In addition, a welcome mat that said, "Home Sweet Home," was seen in Paparazzo's clue package, which was a reference to Matthew's name.

Paparazzo's premiere night clue package also included a black Labrador retriever dog, which could be a reference to the 1998 film, Rusty: A Dog's Tale, in which Matthew provided the voice for the title character. Finally, Paparazzo revealed that Steve Martin is a friend of his. In 1987, Matthew starred as Steve's son in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

On Shrek Night, one of Paparazzo's clues was a fairy tale storybook with the title, "The Voice-Over Prince." Paparazzo explained that adults know him for his acting, but the kids know him for his voice. Matthew has been a voice actor in several projects, including Rusty: A Dog's Life, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Adventures from the Book of Virtues. All of these clues fit Matthew perfectly, so it's highly likely that Paparazzo is him.

Who Have The Masked Singer Panelists Guessed For Paparazzo's True Identity?

The Masked Singer Panelists Think Paparazzo Is An Actor

After his two performances and clue packages, the Masked Singer panelists have guessed a wide variety of actors for Paparazzo's true identity, but none of them have figured out that he might be Matthew. Rita has guessed Taron Egerton and Elijah Wood, while Robin has mentioned Joseph Gordon-Levitt and James Marsden. Ken thought that Paparazzo might be Kieran Culkin or Seth Green. Jenny hasn't offered a guess for Paparazzo yet. While all of these actors are great guesses, the only one who really fits the clues is Matthew.

Paparazzo’s Masked Singer Season 13 Journey So Far

Paparazzo Has Wowed The Panelists & Audience

Paparazzo has had two phenomenal Masked Singer performances so far that showcased completely different sides of his voice and personality. During premiere night, he sang a sensational rendition of "The Door" by Teddy Swims, which blew away everyone. On Shrek Night, he slowed things down with a powerful and moving version of "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. He's stunned the panelists with his performances, and received very high praise. Paparazzo has become the Group A frontrunner, and it would be shocking if he didn't make it through to the Lucky 6.

A Masked Singerpreview has revealed that Paparazzo's Group A finals Rat Pack Night song is "That's Amore," which he sings while walking through the audience. This performance will highlight yet another different aspect of his voice, while also allowing his personality to shine through.

Although right now it's only speculation that Paparazzo is Matthew, the clues do seem to point in his direction. His connection to Robin Williams is the biggest hint that Matthew is inside the Paparazzo mask. During the Group A finals on Rat Pack Night, even more clues will be revealed about Paparazzo. It won't be surprising when they confirm even more that he's Matthew. As Paparazzo continues to sing during The Masked Singer season 13, he'll keep on shining. Hopefully, Paparazzo won't be unmasked until he wins the Golden Mask trophy, and Matthew is holding the coveted prize in his hands.
