Farmers from Kenya’s semi-arid Mbeere region have embraced Bt cotton, a genetically modified variety, despite the discussions on the dangers associated with GMOs, where they were warned of health hazards that included paralyses on their hands after harvesting.

One of the farmers who has been growing cotton for the last eight years says his fortunes changed when he was introduced to the GMO variety.
