Viral Dragon Ball Promo Imagines Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta's True Form, And We're Obsessed
Since the dramatic debut in Dragon Ball Daima of Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 form, many fans have wondered how the Saiyan might look if he entered that form in his adult body, rather than the child body he's been stuck with in that series. Now, they need to imagine it no more, as this new art depicts the Prince of All Saiyans in all his mature, long-haired glory.
In the original Dragon Ball Z, the Super Saiyan 3 form is utilized exclusively by Goku and Gotenks, the fusion of Goten and Trunks. While logically, Vegeta should've attained this form at some point, he had never been canonically depicted in the Super Saiyan 3 transformation until a recent episode of Daima, which took fans by storm. However, there was still a small amount of disappointment from some, since Vegeta is cursed into a "Mini" form, rather than his usual adult appearance. This prompted popular Dragon Ball fan artist Kakeru to remedy the situation with a new fanart shared on social media.
Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 Adult Form is Crackling with Power
Vegeta's Latest Form is Recast for His Classic Adult Body
Recently shared on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), the fanart depicts Adult Vegeta with his Super Saiyan 3 hair, giving fans an idea of what that might look like. Kakeru is a fairly well-known fan artist with an impressive style, evocative of Akira Toriyama himself, and the image soon went viral, racking up the upvotes on Reddit and spreading quickly among Dragon Ball fans on other social media. Kakeru seems to be a prolific fan artist, with almost a dozen pieces of art shared on X in December 2024 alone, depicting things like Daima's kid forms hanging out with their adult counterparts, or Majin Kuu being captured by Tamagami Number One.
Will Fans Get to See Adult Vegeta Go Super Saiyan 3 in Daima?
The Fanart Could Predict a Key Moment in Daima's Future
With Goku, Vegeta, and friends currently cursed to be children by the Dragon Balls, the adult version of Super Saiyan 3 remains something limited to fanart for now. However, with all 3 Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm now in play, there's a distinct possibility of the curse being broken before the series' finale. It may well be possible for Goku and Vegeta to return to their adult forms before the final fight (although who that fight might be against is still up in the air), giving both a chance to use Super Saiyan 3 once again as it was truly meant to be seen.
Until such a thing happens, fans can at least enjoy Kakeru's interpretation of Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta's adult form, with his trademark serious expression that lets everyone know he means business. High-quality fanart like this doesn't come around every day, so it's little wonder that it's managed to go viral and spread throughout the Dragon Ball fandom in rapid fashion.
