What Happened To Deepti Vempati After Love Is Blind Season 2?

Breakout star of Love Is Blind season 2, Deepti Vempati, is still making waves amid season 5, which is now available to stream on Netflix. Deepti intended to make a connection with someone on the reality TV show without having seen them in person. Deepti began bonding with Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee, a fellow Indian cast member who only had experience dating white women. Shake seemed superficial from the start, and it was surprising that the genuine Deepti felt a connection with him. Eventually, Analyst Deepti and Veterinarian Shake got engaged.

Shake described Deepti as his best friend, but he was never attracted to her physically. He began talking about his feelings to the others in the pod, and at one point, even said being with Deepti felt like he was with his aunt or a female family member. Deepti, on the other hand, was trying her best to make her relationship with Shake work. However, at the altar, Deepti said no to Shake. She knew she deserved someone who made her feel like she was the one; Deepti chose herself.

Among the engaged couples, apart from Deepti and Shake, were Kyle Abrams and Shaina Hurley. Both decided they were not going to get married on Love Is Blind. Deepti and Kyle grew closer from there on. They contemplated whether they should give love a shot on Love Is Blind: After the Altar special. Kyle kept tiptoeing around the question for weeks.

They got together in episode 3 when Kyle asked Deepti to be his girlfriend. But within days after the episodes premiered, Deepti and Kyle announced they were no longer together on September 19, 2022. They had split earlier that summer. Deepti questioned whether Kyle was only with her to advance his reality TV ambitions and get more air time.

In September 2022, Deepti announced she had written a book. She was ready to tell her side of the story after discovering overnight fame thanks to the Netflix show. Deepti released her book titled I Choose Myself to give her fans an unfiltered look at her life beyond Love Is Blind.

She wrote about moving to the U.S. from Hyderabad, India, at the age of eight and also opened up about the insecurities she had about her accent or her physical features. In the book, she shared that Shake had frequently made comments about her physical appearance, was honest about her struggles with anorexia and bulimia, and revealed her first choice was Sal Perez. Deepti has since gone on book tours and promotes her book on Instagram.

Deepti has also fashioned herself a Content Creator. She has 1 million followers on Instagram and frequently engages with them in her posts.

She shares videos related to recipes, outfits, travel, mental health, and self-awareness.

Deepti travels quite a bit and has showcased in her Instagram highlights her trips to places such as South Africa, Canada, Singapore, and Hawaii. Deepti recently turned 34 and is showing no signs of slowing down her influencer lifestyle. She also promotes different brands on her page.

Deepti allegedly had a new man in her life, but never revealed who he was. In May 2023, Deepti joined co-host Natalie Lee on their Out Of The Pods podcast to give fans an update on her love life. She said she was “smitten by a man.” While Natalie said Deepti was in love, the Love Is Blind alum corrected her and told her she was “smitten” but not in love. It was revealed that Deepti’s new beau is an A-list actor. She often found herself giggling when she’s texting him. “You know, keep the mouth zipped,” she added.

However, Love Is Blind's Deepti never hard-launched the A-lister on her social media, and no receipts were ever given about the relationship. She did say the relationship was of a long-distance nature. Based on her social feeds, Deepti appears single and focused on herself. While Love is Blind didn't work out in the love department for Deepti, she has certainly catapulted herself to reality TV celeb status and has reaped a lot of benefits from the show.
